yoo hoo~~ i'm here again! i'm kl btw. just in case i forget to write later...
anw, since there's no chalet this year (apparently), some of us were thinking of going on a CRUISE next year, since everyone's pretty booked up for dec..
right.. so here are some details:
for jan - mar 08 (promotion (: ) on star cruise -- superstar virgo:
assuming we take "ocean view stateroom with window" on deck 5 (cheapest ah),
for 3N penang phuket cruise:
if we go in fours (oh! how convenient), the amt per person, including surcharges but excluding any unknown taxes, is $472.
details:
sun -- sail at 1600
mon -- arrive at penang at 1200; leave penang at 2000
tue -- arrive at phuket at 0800; leave phuket at 1800
wed -- arrive in singapore at 1900
for 2N malacca kuala lumpur cruise:
amt is $306.50
details:
wed -- sail at 2359 (!!)
thurs -- arrive at malacca at 0700; leave malacca at 0900; arrrive at KL at 1400; leave KL at 2300
fri -- arrive in singapore at 1400
for weekend cruise: (i personally think this one not very good, but if everyone is busy working and can only go out on weekends, then can consider!)
amt is $386.50
details:
fri -- sail at 2100
sat -- in the middle of "HIGH SEAS"
sun -- arrive in singapore at 1100
k. so this is the part whereby i try my best to convince you to go for the cruise and not compare the price to chalet/do nth and stay in singapore:
1. EH. CLASS EVENT AH.
2. you'll be very bored from jan - mar next year
3. you'll need a break from work
4. it'll be fun since you can catch up with everyone and enjoy everyone's company again!
5. we can look at the never-ending horizon and think abt things that are larger-than-life and philosophise (?) together
6. we can set foot on some foreign land and breathe some foreign air
7. fun on the cruise? i've nvr been on one. how i know
8. don't dismiss this immediately cuz of the price k
9. you can earn back the fees by working during the 6 mths (which is most prob wad you'll do anw). so what better way to spend money than splurge it on a SUPERSTAR VIRGO cruise trip with some ex-classmates and reminisce abt the good old days???
10. stop worrying abt natural disasters
11. EH. BUFFET LEH. FREE FLOW. FOOD. FOOD. FOOD. aft breakfast we eat brunch, aft brunch we eat lunch, aft lunch we eat tea, aft tea we eat dinner, aft dinner we eat supper, aft supper we wait a while, aft we wait we eat breakfast....
uhh.. Alternatively, someone else can go plan for an overseas trip (via airplane/bus/train) to some other place (msia, thai, bintan?) and we can compare. or sth. but i think most pple are more for the idea of cruise since most parents are not very comfy with some kids (yeah. you kids) going to some foreign land. eh. whoever's parents need a chaperone pls say soon k..
